Just some fun pages to share from the scrapbook retreat I was at this past weekend

...introducing ALPHABETIZE ME 2012 by the orange clothesline

Hello and happy new week everyone!  I can't believe it's Monday all over again :)

It's almost time to take my youngest to preschool but I wanted to tell you about my newest project.

I am going to do a scrapbook about ME.  Yep, ME.  I'm not sure about you, but I rarely have photos that include me, let alone scrapbook about myself.  SO...  I thought this year it would be fun to start a project, I'm calling it ALPHABETIZE ME 2012.  I started it on the orange clothesline's FB page last night, asking for some help.  I would love to hear your input.  I need to come up with words that best describe ME, one for each letter of the alphabet.  I am going to do an alphabet book about myself, digging through all of the "old, new and anything in between" photos of me :)  What do ya think?  Sounds fun, doesn't it?

How fun will it be, years from now to look back on it?  Not to mention for my kids someday, even grandkids to look at it?

Of course I'll show you my digital scrapbook pages in progress along the way!  I've already got some fun words to get me started.  But I'd love your help!

Email me at theorangeclothesline@gmail.com with some words that you feel describe me or click on over to my FB page and share there.  I'd love to hear your thoughts :)

ALPHABETIZE ME 2012!  A scrapbook about me!  FUN!

2-Page Spreads

Baseball memories from 2011!  kit : Brothers from Just So Scrappy (www.justsoscrappytoo.com)

Do you ever run into this?  You have so many pictures from a sport season and you feel overwhelmed?  You want to add them, but don't want 14 pages of one sport?  I believe this is the best way to go about it - pick all your faves, go ahead!  Just collage them!

Another cute way to do a 2-page spread, split some pictures right down the middle :)

Why do I digital scrapbook?

If for no other reason, this is why I digital scrapbook!  I created this page, originally for our FAMILY album, then "imported" it into each of our kids albums and moved some things around and whammo, in a matter of minutes have individual pages in minutes!  Imagine the time this would take to do traditionally??  I LOVE DIGITAL SCRAPBOOKING!

SNOW DAY!

We got out there today in the snow and I even got the ol' camera out.  I had to dust it off a little, I haven't used 'er since Christmas :)  Had fun snapping a few that will be scrapbooked before long!

me the detective

"When I grow up, I want to be a detective..."  this is a true statement :)  There is something about investigating and digging deeper for me.  I love the thrill, getting to the bottom of things.  Before having kids, my job was as Senior Investigative Assistant for the government, so I suppose it's not too far off.  It's in me!  I wanted to share this little story with you from yesterday -

After returning Jack's shoes, I headed for another few stops.  I debated taking the highway but had some time to kill so decided to run to the scrapbook store.  I noticed a strange scenario in the car in front of me.  So I scooted forward in my seat to take a closer look...

An old woman driving the older Chevy Cavalier, white hair all bushy sticking up around her headrest, with a younger male in the passenger seat.  He had on a knit cap and sunglasses.  He was leaning into her seat, like as in uncomfortably in her personal space.  I grew suspicious.

What was he doing?  So I decided to follow them.  My mind went to robbery.  Why was she driving him?

Why was his hand on her headrest as he leaned towards her?

Was he intimidating her?

Were they going to the bank where he'd make her empty her account?  I stayed on their tail.  She nearly ran a red light in front of me and I called out "don't run the light lady!" as if she could hear me.  She quick hit her brakes.  There we sat at the red light, my fingers tightening the steering wheel.

Do I dial 9-1-1 and wait to hit "send" to be ready for when he makes a move?

Is he holding a gun to her side?

I stayed with them.

At one point he slid the winter cap off his head to scratch his head and I noticed he was balding, that gave me a better idea of his age.  Ok, he's older than I thought, chalk that up in my file of this crime.

Keep going, on goes her blinker.  A few seconds later, mine too.  Are they turning into Huntington Bank?

Wait.

They are turning into the restaurant driveway right before it.

Are they circling around to hit the bank from the rear?

They pull into a spot at the restaurant.  I wait, fortunately a car was pulling out so it gave me the perfect opportunity to not look suspicious as I stalked them.  I circled around and out of the restaurant drive.

I busted out laughing at myself and my imagination.

The old woman by then had walked around to the passenger door.  She was helping the man out of the car.  He was blind...
